This is the latest news on Senator Stevens.
US Republican Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska was convicted Monday on corruption charges.
The monthlong trial revealed that employees for oil services company VECO Corp. transformed the senator's modest mountain cabin into a modern, two-story home with wraparound porches, a sauna and a wine cellar.
The jury of 8 women and 4 men deliberated and came back to find Senator Stevens (R-AK) guilty on all 7 counts of making false statements (lying on US Senate financial disclosure forms for 1999-2006).
